Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) is a new education funding program provided by the State of Texas, launching for the 2026-2027 school year.
Important to Know:
- Funding is awarded by the State of Texas
- Funding is not guaranteed
- If applications exceed available funding, a state lottery may be used
Tution Fees
- Waitlist Fee — $50
- Monthly Tuition — $800
- Annual Activity Fee — $200
- Uniforms (3 sets) — $250
- Textbooks & Learning Modules — $600
- Registration Fee — $100

MICRO ACADEMY
Texas families may be able to use Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) funds to help pay for microschool tuition and approved learning expenses starting in the 2026–27 school year.
At a glance:
- For Texas students eligible for public school or Pre-K3–2nd Grade
- Up to $10,474/year for private school students
- Up to $30,000/year for students with disabilities (based on IEP)
- Covers tuition, tutoring, curriculum, & learning materials
